Heart stopping come from behind win!
Two great teams with great traditions faced off for all the marbles. At this point in the season both Mansfield and North were undefeated in league play, so a trip to the Super Bowl was on the line. To add to the drama Coach Ray Beaupre (161-46-4) was coaching his last home game. A crowd in excess of 6000 was on hand.
They were not disappointed. Both teams played their hearts out.
After North's second score they kicked the extra point but were called for an off-side. On the second try from the 8 yard line Erik Lundell was able to get a hand on the kick and deflect it wide.
At that point in the game Mansfield put together two scoring drives while stopping North cold.
