BREAK # 1- Mansfield's Rich Ruffing recovered a fumbled fair-catch at the Foxboro 17 yard line with under five minutes left in the first half. On the next play Rob Smith scores.
BREAK # 2- Judson Brown rushes the punter and blocks the kick. Shawn Cavalieri recovers for the Hornets at the Foxboro 35. Two plays later, center Jeff Devine and guard Steve Medeiros execute a trap-block and spring Gary DeGirolamo for a 13 yard TD.
BREAK # 3- John Armstrong recovers a Warrior fumble on the Mansfield 25 yard line to end the third quarter.
BREAK # 4- On the next play Fred Vallette fumbles a pitch-out for a 7 yard loss back to the 18 yard line only to have Foxboro ruled offside.
BREAK # 5- In the fourth quarter the Foxboro punter slips and kicks the ball straight up, Carlos Medeiros catches it and runs 28 yards for a TD.
BREAK # 6- On the next kickoff, the ball hits a Foxboro player and bounces into the hands of John Armstrong.
BREAK # 7- After a bad snap, sophmore punter Mike Brunelli tracked the ball down and ran for the first down.
In addition to breaks Mansfield played great defense. Ruffing and Armstrong were outstanding in the secondary. Dave Sullivan had a big play in the second quarter stopping Foxboro on a fourth and one on Mansfield's 33 yard line. Late in the second quarter Josh Hines and Rob Smith stopped Foxboro when they drove to the Hornets 16 yard line.
