# The College Football Hall of Fame is an important part of the National Football Foundation (NFF). This organization recognizes individuals who have excelled on the football field, in the classroom and in the community. The players and coaches inducted annually exemplify the Foundation's standards of excellence and were selected from the 3.8 million individuals who have participated in the game.
The NFF is made up of 108 chapters with a total of almost 10,000 members. The Foundation has awarded over $6 million to 556 National Scholar Athletes over the years and many more have been honored with scholarships at the chapter level. The NFF is involved in important activities such as the Kickoff Classic at the Meadowlands in New Jersey to open the college football season. This event provides a major source of revenue to support the Foundation and its scholarship programs.
Other activities sponsored by the NFF include the Annual Awards Dinner, the Top 25 poll and the awarding of the MacArthur Bowl for the nation's top ranked team.
